Ground-Up Custom Build · Design-Build · Completed
Stone Canyon Road is a Spanish modern ground-up residence situated on approximately half an acre in Lower Bel-Air, moments from the Hotel Bel-Air. The project required precise coordination across structural complexity, multi-level living, and a fully integrated outdoor environment — all resolved in pre-construction before a single trade mobilized.
The home spans three habitable levels connected by an elevator extending from a semi-subterranean garage. Five bedrooms, a dedicated office, a home theater, and an ADU are organized across the floors, with layouts developed to create distinct environments that connect rather than isolate.
Over 1,000 plantings — including six 125-year-old olive trees and mature 30-foot ficus — were integrated to establish complete privacy throughout the property. Combined with solid steel entry gates and controlled site access, the result is a residence that disappears from the street and reveals itself entirely from within.
Material selection was approached with the same intent as the architecture. Custom walnut cabinetry, travertine and limestone throughout, plaster-finished walls and ceilings — every surface decision reinforces a single cohesive language rather than competing with it. The primary suite was designed as a standalone retreat, anchored by a boutique-style closet and a custom hand-carved round travertine soaking tub.
Infrastructure was resolved early: a fully integrated Control4 smart home system, dual laundry setups, and secondary chef's kitchen were all incorporated during pre-construction planning to ensure seamless function without disruptive coordination during the build.
